The WA Science Fiction Foundation is running a short story competition for short speculative fiction by West Australian writers. We are inviting entries of written works of 40,000 words or less including but not limited to short stories, novellas, flash fiction and poetry, within the genres of sci fi, fantasy, horror and associated sub-genres. Entries from authors under 18 and authors 18 and over will be judged separately.
Entries will be judged by a panel selected by WASFF and winners will be announced at Swancon 50 alongside the Tin Ducks and Ditmar awards. Entries will open on the 1st of January 2026 and will remain open until the 30th of May 2026. Authors may submit multiple entries.
